In the time that I was away, the chaos that was my life was determined to make me see some new truths about myself, my priorities, and my passions. I took time to journal for myself and read a few great books; Unfu*k Yourself: Get Out of Your Head and into Your Life by Gary John Bishop and Girl, Wash Your Face: Stop Believing the Lies About Who You Are so You Can Become Who You Were Meant to Be by Rachel Hollis. Oh, and in this time I also underwent a fairly unplanned hysterectomy.
Truths about myself:
1. I am a creative people/relationship person and those interactions feed by soul.
2. Writing is an outlet I never want to lose.
3. I have more potential than I give myself credit for.
4. I am often self-serving in my dedication to areas of life.
5. I am a giver and often altruistic to a fault.
I give until I am wore out. When wore out, I only give to the people and activities which give back to me. I can spread myself too thin with creative ideas. - Yes, that is me.
So, amidst my mess, I let acquaintances go who's paths were no longer aligned with my priorities or bringing me joy. I began helping with organizations I am truly passionate about again. I am making my 'work time' work time, and using my evenings and weekends to be more engaged with my family, or writing, speaking, and networking to grow my personal brand.
Life isn't easy, but the chaos can either get you down or you can creatively coordinate it to the best of your ability to get what you truly want and deserve.
The hustle is real, but so are the snuggles.
